Center for Creativity and the Arts

Film, Performance, and Literary Arts

We live in a world of motion.

Daily we traverse urban and rural landscapes, only to stop in a place where the earth beneath our feet is still moving.

No wonder we relate to movement as a form of communication.

The performing arts involve the artists’ own face, body, and presence in translating ideas. Including live forms that range from opera to spoken word and from dance to magic, the performing arts are as dynamic as life itself.

CCA’s film presentations are also full of life. Post-screening discussions, facilitated by experts in each film’s content, allow audience members to relate the issues they see to their community.

The literary arts provide a different kind of motion: the imaginary transportation of a reader or listener into another reality. This movement of mind is offered through CCA's readings and other literary arts events.

Alex Espinoza, J. Daniel Herring, Dr. Mary Husain, and Dr. Kenneth Froelich oversee CCA’s films, performances, and literary arts events.
