I joined the faculty at Fresno State in 2004, as a Lecturer in the Department of Linguistics.
I was promoted to Professor in 2013 and have been Chair of the department since 2020.
I also have been directing the Cognitive Science program.
I am a member of several academic soceties, including the Acoustical Society of America,
the Cognitive Science Society and the American Association for the Advancement of
Science.

I am especially interested in phonetics, speech acoustics, signal processing and engineering,
and other mathematical and computational models of language.
