Cristal Tiscareno has her MA in Dance Education from California State University,
Long Beach and BA in Theatre Arts with Dance emphasis from California State University,
Fresno. In 2009 she choreographed for the televised 5th annual Christian Music Awards show. Cristal has had the honor of performing at the
John F. Kennedy Center for the performing arts. She has acquired skills in Modern,
Ballet, Jazz, and African dance with a variety of professional choreographers, teachers,
and performers; a list including George De la Pena, Judy Austin, Madeline Perone,
Billy Sigfield, Bill Evans, Ellen Bromberg, John Weaver, Dianne Maroney, Susan McLain,
Jill Crosby, Ruth Griffin, and the Paul Taylor Dance Company. Currently, Cristal
teaches at Fresno City College and California State University, Fresno and served
on the board for modern dance company Fresno Dance Collective (NOCO). Cristal has
choreographed for the Fresno City College theatre productions Fantastic Mr. Fox, Avenue Q, American Idiot, The Little Prince, and Let the Right One In. Cristal resided as Dance Director at Break the Barriers from 2005- 2011. Currently
she directs the annual FCC Dance Expo event, established 2016. Cristal is the department
lead of Fresno City College Dance Department. Cristal has been Artistic Director of
City Dances 2=Fall 2017, Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Fall 2022. She loves being involved with
the dance community. Inspiring creativity and embracing movement for all individuals
is a passion for Cristal.
