Department of Music

Scholarships and Opportunities

Each year the Music Department offers several scholarships and stipends (listed below) to music students in various programs. To determine your eligibility, please review the Scholarship Qualification and Retention Policy in the Undergraduate Student Handbook.

Prior to submitting your scholarship application, please be advised that an entrance audition is required for all prospective music major and minors.

Music Auditions

Several ensembles are developed for students that have outstanding skills in music. The members of these select ensembles all receive scholarships. Members are determined by special auditions that are held during the Summer before the school year. For more information about these groups please contact the Fresno State Music Department at (559) 278-2654.

All applicants for any scholarships must complete the on-line University Scholarship application and must demonstrate financial need.
