Nancy Osborne - Broadcast Journalist
Nancy Osborne has made Fresno her home since 1973. Putting down permanent roots was
a pleasure for a single mom born and raised in a military family. Nancy grew up on
Army bases in the United States and in overseas installations in Japan and Turkey.
She graduated from Las Cruces High School in New Mexico and attended New Mexico State
University for 3 years. After a 5-year hiatus from her education and early parenthood,
she returned to college here in the Valley at Fresno State University. She graduated
in 1976 with a BA in Speech Communications and began work on a Masters degree.
Following a year of graduate study, she accepted a reporting job at ABC 30, becoming one of only a handful of women in the local broadcast industry. In the fall of 1977, Nancy joined the anchor team at KFSN-TV. In 1980 she produced and anchored the Valley's first locally produced news magazine show along with co-anchoring Action News.
In 1996, after two decades of daily news reporting, Nancy accepted the challenge of becoming part of the Action News Management team. While continuing her coverage of the Valley's political scene and issues involving children and families, she was named Executive Producer - Special Projects, helping shape Action News around the clock.
January 2004 saw Nancy returning to reporting full time, once again adding her experience and expertise to our expanding daily Action News coverage. In addition, she co-anchored Action News Live at Five with Warren Armstrong.
Nancy Osborne retired in 2012 after 35 years with ABC-30, anchoring, producing, and reporting stories that make a difference in the lives of people in the San Joaquin Valley.
