Clare has four generations of Fresno State Bulldogs in her family with her youngest
son starting this fall as a freshman at Fresno State. She was one of the first to
be certified to teach online classes for both the CSU and California Community College
systems (before Covid!) and has done work as a trainer during Canvas Week for the
Center for Faculty Excellence at Fresno State. She has received honors during “Faculty
Appreciation Day” from students from the Fresno State Women’s Soccer (Fall, 2018)
and Fresno State Women’s Lacrosse (Spring, 2018) teams. When Clare isn’t teaching,
you can find her hanging out with family.

Her current research interests include Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Diversity,
Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I), and how to help people who identify as being neurodiverse
succeed in the world of higher education. She has incorporated UDL into her curriculum
along with Service Learning projects her students have done that partnered up with
the Fresno County Department of Health, and the Fresno County Department of Behavioral
Health which culminated in over 100 student presentations during the High Impact Practices
Symposium at Fresno State.
