Cheryl, aka Mrs. G to her students, brings a strong commitment to student success with a long career in higher education teamed with a professional media background. Her media experience includes news reporting, producing, video production, multimedia and mobile storytelling, on-air performance and public speaking. She has also worked in public relations, advertising, social media and community outreach.

Before joining Fresno State as an assistant professor, Cheryl worked as a part-time lecturer in the Media, Communications and Journalism Department and at Fresno City College. She also worked in transfer and articulation, and taught workshops for a private college. 

 

 
Cheryl's research interests are preserving stories within our cultural communities and the impact of news deserts.
