I teach courses on Mexican culture, film, and literature at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. My research resides at the intersection of literature, culture, and video games. In literature, I specialize in the genres of fantasy and horror as a way to explore societal anxieties, reflect on the human condition, and identify cultural idiosyncrasies. In the realm of digital culture, I explore the representation of Mexican identities in video game narratives, the processes through which cultural elements are integrated into the creation of representational paradigms, and how these texts reshape contemporary culture and notions of self.
