Liz Crifasi is an Associate Professor of Theatre. Before coming to Fresno State,
she taught Lighting Design, Sound Design, and Introduction to Theatre courses at Emory
University and Colorado College. She is an active member of the USITT Lighting Commission
and has designed the lighting for the convention's mainstage in 2019 and 2022 as part
of her role as Vice-Commissioner for Mainstage Events. She has designed lighting and
sound for theatre and dance companies around the country, including Southern Repertory
Theatre, Tulane Shakespeare Festival, The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Theater
Emory, Room to Move Dance, Fabrefaction Theatre Company and Zoetic Dance Ensemble.
She has also served as an assistant stage manager and wardrobe supervisor for The
Fabulous Palm Springs Follies. Additionally, Liz has worked as a lighting director,
designer and technician for corporate events and concerts for bands/artists/corporations
such as Lady Gaga, Paramore, Solange, Raphael Saadiq, Cindy Lauper, Journey, Essence
Music Festival, Voodoo Music Festival, Budweiser, Bombay Sapphire, Mary Kay and many
more. She served as a house lighting director for the House of Blues, New Orleans
and The Hard Rock Casino, Biloxi. She also dabbled in lighting for film, working
as an electrician for the television show Wildfire and a moving light programmer for the film 21 Jump Street.
