Carla Jean and Scot C. Millar Travel Award

Carla started her career at Fresno State as a student assistant while she was a student pursuing her business degree. She then became a staff member for the College of Arts and Humanities upon graduation. Counting her years as a student assistant, Carla dedicated over 45 years of her life to Fresno State.

During that time, she helped Dean Joseph Satin create and manage the University Press, the first and only press in all the CSU, and coordinated the first Study Abroad program at Fresno State, London Semester.

The Millar Travel Award provides program support for deserving Fresno State student participant(s) engaged in the London Study Abroad Program within the College of Arts and Humanities at Fresno State.

Program support is intended to cover the program fees, which include but are not limited to: program course fees, airfare, and lodging. Each recipient must meet the following criteria:

  • Shall have submitted a personal statement describing his/her life story, personal interests, and why he/she is traveling abroad to London.
  • Shall be selected by the London Program Coordinator and approved by the Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities.
