James Rocha has taught at Pierce College, Cal Poly Pomona, Louisiana State University,
and now at Fresno State. James is working on philosohpy of race, philosophy and popular
culture, ethics, philosophy of law, and Kant's ethics. James is on the editorial board
of Slayage, coordinates the Social Justice and Social Change Certificate, and serves as the Central Valley Scholars Law Pathway Liaison for Fresno State. James has won teaching
awards at UCLA, Pierce College, and LSU.

James has written two books (Ethics of Hooking Up and Joss Whedon, Anarchist?, the latter with Mona Rocha) and co-edited a third (Philosophical Reflections of Black Mirror). He has also published in numerous journals (including Journal of Applied Philosophy, Ethical Theory & Moral Practice, Kennedy Institute
of Ethics, Social Theory and Practice, and Philosophy in the Contemporary World), and has written chapters in many books, especially books on popular culture (including
books on The Wire, From Hell, Buffy, BoJack Horseman, Twin Peaks, and Psych).
